The connection between a crown or bridge and an implant, an abutment is something no one sees. But that doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be carefully seen to.
In fact, improperly created, an abutment can cause functional issues, aesthetic problems—even crown failures due to poor porcelain support.
The highly trained technicians at our California dental laboratory craft abutments out of gold, titanium, or zirconia, an incredibly hard white ceramic. To make one that will stay in place through the years takes equal parts artistry and engineering—and just a little bit of wizardry. But that’s nothing 30 years of experience can’t handle.
