Implant Prosthetics: Crowns and Bridges
Once it was discovered that metal titanium could fuse itself to bone, it wasn’t long before implants were born. And thanks to recent developments, they act—and in many cases, look—just like natural teeth.
But there’s a catch: this is an unbelievably delicate area.
To make implant crowns and implant bridges, technicians have to understand physics and engineering, not just dentistry. And that takes countless hours of education and experience.
If the angle or size of an implant prosthetic is even a tiny bit off, it won’t take, or can fracture, or might even damage the patient’s mouth permanently. That’s a risk we’re not willing to take. So we go slowly—our seasoned, specialized implant dental lab technicians planning each case carefully and individually.
With implant prosthetics, craftsmanship is even more important than usual. Because here, art doesn’t just imitate life—it becomes it.
We offer these choices:
- Porcelain Fused to 3M Lava Zirconia: In this futuristic (yet time-tested) procedure, a computer sculpts an implant crown coping out of a solid block of specially formulated 3M lava zirconia via 3D modeling. When Noritake Porcelain is added, it looks exactly like enamel—and it lasts like pure rock. The perfect choice when aesthetics really matter.
- Porcelain Fused to Metal (PFM): With a traditional metal underlayer and long-life porcelain on top, this implant combines great looks with extra-long wear.
- Full Gold Implant Crown: For cases where aesthetics aren’t a consideration, this long-used method gives patients unsurpassed wear and reliability.
