3M Lava Zirconia Crowns


California Dental Arts is proud to offer the LavaTM system by 3MTM ESPETM which offers the highest strength all-ceramic metal-free restorations to the dental industry. The new zirconia-based system combines CAD/CAM technology with an extraordinarily translucent zirconia framework that can be custom colored creating a restoration strong enough for long span bridges, with outstanding fit and biocompatibility and the esthetics your patients have come to expect.

People want aesthetically pleasing, natural looking restorations that offer value for money in terms of the lifespan of the restoration and its biocompatibility.
Lava crowns and bridges are made from zirconium oxide (zirconia) and are suitable for anterior and posterior applications for up to 4 units in length without any compromise of the lifespan of the restoration. Zirconium oxide combines natural appearance with exceptional strength. The fracture strength of a zirconia crown is many times higher than that of the conventional ceramic materials.
Due to its excellent mechanical and optical characteristics, 3MTM ESPETM LavaTM Zirconia can be used for a wide range of indications.

1 3 - 6 unit bridges with a maximum of two bridge units next to one another in the posterior area and a maximum of four bridge units next to one another in the anterior area.
2 with a maximum of 1 pendant at the position of a premolar or incisor (cantilever bridges are not approved for use in patients with bruxism)
3 Tests have proven: LavaTM zirconia shows a sufficient strength for this indication. However, this type of indication overall can have a higher failure risk due to de-cementation and secondary caries regardless of manufacturer.
