Enamel-dentin adhesive bonding system:
A proven pressable ceramic restoration, IPS Empress® offers patient satisfaction with esthetic, natural looking restorations, by the exclusive use of ceramic materials. IPS Empress® Esthetic raises the bar for pressable ceramics delivering the fit of a pressed restoration with the esthetics of a layered restoration.
The IPS Empress® system yields excellent crowns, but is especially effective when used for inlays, onlays and veneers. It provides one of the strongest all-ceramic restorations available.
These true-to-nature esthetics have long been the standard for cosmetic restorations. With no structural support material beneath the porcelain, the bonded ceramic restorative materials reestablish function, shape, contour, color (hue, value and chrome), natural light transmission and strength of natural dentition.
They come in twelve shades for perfect matching and can be prescribed for full-coverage anterior crowns, inlays, and onlays. Individually colored tooth restorations can be reproduced in exact shape and shade. The result is an individually fabricated restoration with an excellent fit and all the characteristics of a natural tooth. Even when working in limited space, optimum esthetic results can be obtained.
Examples
Shade
The IPS Empress® system enables CDA to duplicate the natural dentition of your patient. When overlaid upon the simulated dentin, the porcelain blends accurately with the natural enamel. IPS Empress® Esthetic ingots are available in 12 shades and in 7 levels of translucency. Unshaded ingots are available in 5 levels of opacity: E T1, E T2, E O1, E O2 and E O3. The slightly shaded IPS Empress® Esthetic TC ingots reduce the need for characterization. In addition, 3 further shades are available, which are ideal for the veneering technique. The E TC0, E O1 and E O3 ingots can be used for creating bright shade effects, for example, for very bright tooth shades or after bleaching.
